How to embed a hyperlink in SMS message

Is it possible to embed or use hyperlinks in SMS messaging services? I know that different carriers have different policies and rules, but from what I understand SMS is it's own format. I also know that the apps that handle these messages are different in what they can do. I am using the Message+ (Verizon Messages) app. It seems pretty advanced, but the only links that get a thumbnail or ""boxed" description are things like YouTube and Google Drive. I want to make links like "Tap here" to view the link.
