So I went and flashed my Amicroe TouchTab IV (AMI-TT4) to the latest rom version (firmware from Amicroe support) No problems prior. And now I have a screen rotation issue...
Symptoms are, screen is always rotated 180 degrees the wrong way (though touch is rotated the correct way) <- This is very very hard to use as I have to guess where the diagonal equivalent of what i'm trying to touch is. It seems if I could fix the screen rotation without affecting the touchscreen the problem would be solved.
The rom seems to be based off cyanogenmod and there is no option for calibrating touchscreen/g-sensor or anything to that effect.
I have tried the following in order to fix it;
Locking in screen rotation (touch screen is still inverted)
Other kernels from Amicroe support in case I accidentally chose the wrong one!
Here is the kernel page for where I downloaded the roms;
Please help! Thanks
So after a bit more research the rockchip firmware flashing tool's two options 'Upgrade' And 'Restore' are different, Upgrade overwrites existing files whereas restore is more like a full format.
The firmware #2 appears to rotate correctly, but does not boot past initial logo (but this is the right way up)
Firmware #3 & #4 initially appear upside down, boot correctly, but rotation is messed up as above.
I've tried different combinations of Upgrade and restore from the 2nd firmware, but still haven't got any further...
I can get the phone into root, and have tried sending the update via ADB sideload which fails...
If anyone can tell me the file to modify that specifies rotation degrees, I could just invert these 180 and the problem would solved.. Thanks
